US CRYSTAL
Crystal is a very recent American Grown cousin of Hallertauer Mittlefruh. Much spicier than it's German ancestors, the spiciness (cinnamon, black pepper and nutmeg) of this hop is it's trademark. Substitutes: any of the Hallertau varieties, Mount Hood or Liberty, but they will be much less spicy. Perhaps Tettnanger or Saaz, which are spicier might be a better substitute or would work well blended with Mount Hood or Liberty.
