US MOUNT HOOD
Another recently released American-grown cousin of Hallertauer Mittelfruh. It is spicy (cinnamon), resiny and slightly sweet. It is recommended for any German or American lager. It is quite close to the Hallertauer Mittelfruh in character, perhaps a little bit spicier. I recommend against using this hop for beers in which you want dominant bitterness. Substitutes: Liberty, Hallertauer Mittelfruh, Crystal (even spicier), or other Hallertauer varieties.
