GR SPALT
Spalt (pronounced SHPAWLT) is a German aroma hop from the hop growing region of the same name and it considered a Noble hop in one school of thought. It has a slightly woody character and does have some aroma characteristics common with some "undisputed" Noble hops. Spalt has a cinnamon-like spiciness that is about halfway in intensity between Hallertauer Mittelfrau and Crystal. The most common hop among Dusseldorfer Altbiers. Substitutes: Spalter Select or one of the Hallertauer varieties.
