There’s more than corn in Indiana. Now there’s malted barley!
Great Fermentations is proud to announce that we will be the sole distributor in Indiana for Sugar Creek Malts. Sugar Creek Malt is sourcing locally grown barley and malting it right here in Lebanon, IN. To kick off this new partnership we are having a CREAM ALE CONTEST.
The only rule is ½ of your grain bill must be 6 Row; grown and malted by Sugar Creek Malt Co.
Entries will be accepted until September 9th (at either location) and will be judged according to Cream Ale BJCP guidelines. PLEASE PROVIDE TWO BOTTLES! The winner will be announced at Friday Night Club, September 11th. The winning entry will be converted into a beer kit with naming rights and a $25 credit towards future purchases of Sugar Creek Malt going to the champion. Caleb Michalke, owner and Head Maltster will be on hand to announce the winner and discuss the malting process. Caleb is expecting Pale, Pilsner, Vienna, and Munich to be offered shortly and Great Fermentations is very pleased to be offering them. Let’s make this a great contest with lots of participation to show Caleb how much we appreciate his endeavor to bring us local malt for local beer!
