In this class, Frank Petrarca will teach you how to craft soft, hearty home style wheat loaves from scratch using simple ingredients. Frank will share his whole wheat bread recipe, some yeast and plenty of pro tips for making great bread. This is a hands-on class, and you’ll be working with a very easy wheat dough, that your family will love. Bring one or two 9-inch loaf pans so you can take your bread home to bake. You’ll learn all about kneading, proofing, shaping & baking to make beautiful loaves every time. You can build on this skill and move on to other whole-grain breads.
One or two 9-inch loaf pans and a big appetite (remember you’ll be sampling a lot)!
Frank is a longtime customer of ours and has been baking breads for over 32 years. He’s entered his bread into competitions, but really just prefers to share his passion of bread baking by teaching others. For the last 3 years he has been putting on bread-baking demonstrations at the Indiana State Fair, which have garnered fantastic responses from those who attend. It’s his goal to provide up close & personal lessons so folks can craft great bread, create memories and perhaps inspire others to bake too!
