Returns

We have one policy when it comes to returns: No Hassle. Whether you got the wrong product(s), something arrived broken, or the product is just not what you were expecting, we want to make sure you are happy. Just give us a call at 317-257-9463 or email us at customerservice@greatfermentations.com and we’ll get you squared away.

What Items Can be Returned?

In keeping with our no hassle return process, you can return any product within 30 days of delivery, for an exchange or refund (less shipping charges).

Who Pays for the Return Shipping?

The customer is responsible for return shipping charges, unless we messed up the order or an item arrived damaged or defective.

Shipping Policy

Ah yes, shipping. Since we haven’t figured out how to beam products to your front door step, we actually have to put things in boxes and send them to you the old fashioned way (this does not mean using horse and buggy). Here’s an overview of the shipping methods available to you.

FREE & Flat Rate Shipping

Orders over $59 or more (of qualifying items) ship for free. If the order is below $59 we offer a flat rate of $8.99. Qualifying items are denoted on their respective product pages with the message: “SHIPS FREE WITH ORDERS OVER $59!”. Items that do not qualify for free shipping will not have this messaging (i.e. Bulk Grains, Glass Bottles/Carboys/Etc.., large equipment, etc..).

If you choose free shipping, we will select a shipping method that is both economical and efficient for us to use. If you have a specific provider you would like us to use (i.e. you prefer FedEx because the post office doesn’t deliver to you), just let us know. We may need to charge extra for shipping in those scenarios, but we will always work with you to make sure you get what you need.

FedEx Ground

For orders containing products not eligible for flat rate shipping (or for Alaska and Hawaii orders), this is the most economical method. The cost will be whatever our rate for FedEx is for that shipment, and we pass our savings onto you. In-stock orders usually ship out within one business day. Once shipped, transit times will be between 1-5 days (6-7 days for Hawaii). Check out this page to find out the expected transit time for your location.

Expedited Shipping (FedEx Express Saver, 2Day, & Overnight)

In-stock orders placed before 12 p.m. EST that selected one of the expedited shipping methods, will ship same day. Orders placed after 12 p.m. EST will ship the following day. The expedited shipping methods are only available for Monday-Friday delivery. So, if you picked overnight delivery for an order placed on Friday, delivery will be on Monday the following week, and not on Saturday.

Alaska and Hawaii

All orders to Alaska and Hawaii are eligible for FedEx ground shipping. Transit times can be up to 7 days in some remote zip codes. FedEx expedited services are varied between the two states. See the list below:

  • FedEx Standard Overnight: Not available to Hawaii, but available to Alaska
  • FedEx 2Day: Available to both Hawaii and Alaska, but can take up to four days in some remote zip codes
  • FedEx Express Saver: Not available to Hawaii and Alaska

In-Store Pickup

All orders can choose the In-Store pickup option for $0. Please allow up to 2 hours for your order to be ready for pickup.

Gift Cards

If purchasing physical gift cards only, we use the US postal service, and the shipping cost is free.

International Orders

We welcome any and all orders, regardless of where they come from. If shipping outside the United States, we will contact you after your order is placed with a quote for shipping. Simply choose the “Will Contact for Shipping Quote” option. For international orders, shipping costs do not include any taxes or duties on the items which may be incurred when the shipment reaches the destination country. The customer will be responsible for these costs, if there are any. By having an order shipped internationally, the customer bears responsibility for shipping costs or any issues that arise in shipping once the order leaves our warehouse. If the package is returned to us due to customs problems or other issues, we can only refund for the items ordered, and not the shipping costs.

Cancellations or Changes

If you need to change or cancel an existing order, simply call us at 317-257-9463, and we’ll get you straightened away. Orders typically ship out within 2-3 business days, so make sure to contact us ASAP. Orders that have already been shipped cannot be cancelled or changed!
