Great Fermentations is Moving!
Our Indianapolis storefront is closing, but Great Fermentations is continuing online and staying family-owned!
Beer Meister, a fellow family-owned homebrew business based in Plymouth, Minnesota, is taking over the Great Fermentations brand and online store. You’ll still shop at greatfermentations.com for the beer and wine kits, brewing ingredients, and equipment you rely on, with friendly, knowledgeable help when you have a brewing question. Your Great Rewards points and Great Fermentations gift cards will carry over and work just like they always have.
What This Means for Your Orders
All orders placed through September 30, 2026, will be fulfilled from Indianapolis. Orders placed on or after October 1, 2026, will be fulfilled from Minnesota. While we pack up, move inventory, and restock, some ingredient kits, malts, hops, yeast, and equipment will show as low or out of stock for about one to two weeks. Our normal processing time of three to five business days may also take a little longer during the transition.

The Indianapolis storefront will close its doors on September 26, 2026. For more than 30 years, you've come in to pick up grain for brew day, talk through a recipe, show off your latest batch, and get fixed up when a something went sideways. That's what made this shop what it was, and we're grateful for every one of those visits. Thank you for your loyalty, your stories, and all the beer you shared with us over the years.
CO2 & Nitrogen Are Still Available at the Same Location!
Our neighbors, Proper Pour and Bier Brewery, are taking over CO2 and nitrogen sales at our E 65th Street location. Please come around back for CO2 and nitrogen service. Look for signs directing you where to go. Some logistics are changing, but you’ll still have a local place to get gas for your next batch.
